The “Earth’s Son” is an art sculpture created in 2016 by Dong Shubing, Professor and Head of the Department of Sculpture at Tsinghua University in Beijing
The sculpture is 15 meters long, 9 meters wide and about 4 meters high, made from red sandstone with 3D printing technology. Located in the Gobi desert in 瓜州县 Guazhou County, Gansu province, bordering Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the north-west of China.
Bearing a wish of protecting our mother nature as we humans are all children of the earth, the sculpture in the desert triggers introspective impressions for different kinds of interpretations.
